The Institute welcomes notable UConn alums and legendary women’s basketball coach Geno Auriemma

On June 11 the Institute hosted an aperitivo in honor of a group of UConn alumni and national champion women’s basketball coach Geno Auriemma. Mr Auriemma, a native of Italy, has brought the UConn women’s basketball team to national prominence, and has been named coach for the U.S. Olympic team in 2012. UConn students enjoyed welcoming him at the UConn Florence Program, and the rare chance to have their pictures taken with him. Congenial and enthusiastic about Florence and the program, he gave a wonderful talk encouraging students to remember their UConn roots and affiliation which links them with 200,000 alums worldwide.
